Sustain Value has an extensive network of Associate experts and graduate consultants covering environmental economics, social impact assessment and many other associated skills.
 
Over the years we have built excellent relationships with numerous experts located around the world, that we can bring into our projects as appropriate. Their expertise covers a broad range of complementary skills ranging from ecology through to finance.
 
Our network enables us to provide multidisciplinary solutions and expert advice across many topics.   We also have excellent relationships with a number of top academics and NGOs that can also be brought in to collaborate on projects.
 
A selection of our Associates, several of whom have worked on recent Sustain Value projects, includes, amongst many others:
  • Kit Armstrong: Oil and gas environmental and social expert.  Kit is an independent consultant with 40 years experience helping organizations effectively address environmental and social issues, risks, impacts and opportunities.  Previously Kit worked for Chevron including as Senior Advisor Global Policy and Strategy and as Senior Legal Counsel for HSE issues, and prior to that for the US Environmental Protection Agency.   
  • Phil Clarke: Net Positive and Sustainability Strategy. Phil (Consciam) specialises in corporate sustainability strategy, environmental impact measurement and reporting.  He was previously Head of Environmental Sustainability at Capgemini, responsible for the company’s strategic direction and compliance in relation to the environment.  He was also a founding member of the Net Positive Group.
  • Jan Fehse: Forestry and carbon markets.  Jan (Value for Nature Consulting) is a forestry and ecosystem service markets expert, with extensive experience in carbon offsetting, carbon markets, REDD+ and green investment.   He previously worked for 10 years heading up carbon market pioneer EcoSecurities’ carbon forestry department and before that assisted in one of the world’s first carbon sequestration reforestation projects, in Ecuador.
  • Dr Stephanie Hime: Environmental economics and natural capital.  Stephanie (Little Blue Research Ltd) has over 10 years environmental economics experience as a researcher and consultant for government and corporate clients.  She previously led KPMG’s work on Natural Capital for five years, helping to develop and apply their True Value methodology, and she is currently a part-time Technical Director for the Natural Capital Coalition. 
  • Rob Marsden:  Risk Valuation and Financial Modelling.  Rob (MarsdenGray Ltd) specialises in identifying and evaluating business risks and opportunities, and factoring them into financial valuation models, business plans and due diligence assessments.  He has particular expertise in the extractives sector having worked for Rio Tinto in various roles around the world for 18 years.
  • Gary Owen: Renewables, energy efficiency and maritime environment. Gary (Environmental Marine Solutions) has extensive experience in renewable energy and corporate energy efficiency, particularly in the maritime industry, undertaking impact assessments and audits.  He has worked in the sector for over 20 years in various research and commercial positions and is committed to promoting Net Positive and Natural Capital concepts within corporate governance. 
  • Andrew Prosser:  Non-financial metrics, social (network) capital & supply chains.  Andrew (Capitalactiv) is an environmental accounting and reporting expert, with international experience covering more than 150 corporate and product carbon lifecycle assessments and water footprints for complex global supply chains.  Previous positions include Head of Environmental Governance & Reporting at a carbon and energy consulting firm, and founding director of an innovation consulting firm.
  • Michael Tost:  Mining and sustainability expert.  Michael (MangoIMPACT) is a sustainable development and environmental management expert with considerable experience in the mining sector.  Previous roles have included Head of External Affairs (Europe & N. America) at Vale, Head of Mining and Metals at the World Economic Forum, and 12 years in various sustainable development, health, safety and environment positions at Rio Tinto. 
  • Samuel Vionnet: Water Footprinting and Sustainability Expert.  Sam (Valuing Nature) has seven years international experience specialising in water stewardship, water footprinting and economic valuation.  He was previously a sustainability consultant at Quantis International for six years, leading the water stewardship team, and working for numerous multinational companies in relation to water footprinting of products and supply chains.
