Project: CSRD-TNFD alignment and Nature Strategy study

Objective: To help a mining operation understand what they need to do to comply with the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) in relation to nature, and to scope a follow-on project to support the development of a nature strategy.
Our role: Sustain Value i) investigated how the CSRD and TNFD requirements align ii) undertook a gap analysis to identify what the company needs to do to comply with the requirements, iii) developed a client workshop to explain the topic of nature and what the requirements actually mean from an operational and implementation perspective and iv) scoped out a future project to help the company implement the nature requirements, develop a nature strategy and a nature positive roadmap.
Outcome: This was the second phase of the study for the client, having earlier piloted the TNFD LEAP process for them. It informed a third phase set to commence mid-2024 where we will support their CSRD-TNFD compliance and work with them to develop a nature strategy.
